I knew the day I picked Ydris up from the airport we were going to accomplish big things together. Ydris meows with a Russian accent because he came to us all the way from Peza Russia!
We started working on socialization by attending cat shows and going on adventures to anywhere they accepted pets.
Ydris’s big personality and sweet disposition has left lasting impressions on everyone who has met him. He is a registered Therapy Animal though Pet Partners and currently volunteers at a nursing home.
Not only has Ydris been able to educate the public on how special Sphynx cats really are, but he has brought happiness to so many people. When Ydris volunteers, he loves to sit in patients laps and receive ear or chin rubs. He also enjoys when they wave his cat wand around and give him a treat.
Each time we visit one of the residents reminds Ydris not to get to close to the finch habitat because he might want an afternoon snack! I have had multiple residents tell me they look forward to seeing Ydris each week and they even started at cat group for him!
Ydris has his special spotlight hour on the activities board and gets to visit with all his fans. Volunteering together has given us a special bond and I am so thankful to have him by my side. We are also working with our local library to start a reading program where children will read to Ydris to inspire their love of reading!
Stay tuned for more grand adventures to come!
